Andrea Gagliardi received her Master’s Degree in Communication, Culture and Technology from Georgetown University in May 2012. Andrea’s professional interests lie in writing content and creating communication strategies for various organizations in the public and private sector. Andrea most recently worked for the United States Military Academy at West Point where she served as a contract Content Director and Alternate Program Manager on a new website project.
Andrea previously worked with multiple offices in the Department of Homeland Security, as a Marketing Specialist and Technical Writer for infrastructure protection and cybersecurity programs. Much of her time with DHS involved being the contract Team Lead for the National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC). She worked with the NIAC from 2014-2017. She is a holder of a Top Secret Clearance.
Through the 2012 election cycle, Andrea worked at Targeted Victory, a digital campaign strategy firm, where she worked with advertising vendors to place online ads for clients such as Mitt Romney for President. She also did work researching digital trends in political campaigns, writing an internal daily newsletter and editing candidates’ WordPress sites.
Prior to her work at Targeted Victory, she interned at The U.S. House of Representatives in the office of Congresswoman Nan Hayworth, where her work consisted of communicating with constituents through phone calls and emails, as well as giving personal tours of the Capitol Building.
Prior to attending Georgetown and working in Washington, DC, Andrea attended Stonehill College where she earned her BA in Communication Studies and minored in Health Care Administration. She also interned with NY Senator Bill Larkin and Exciting Read Publishing Company.
In her free time, Andrea enjoys going on walking adventures with her rescue dog, a spaniel mix she adopted in 2017. Andrea is also an avid traveler. She most recently traveled to Asia for the first time in 2018, visiting six countries. She studied abroad in Italy for a semester in college. She aspires to visit all the continents and states, and has a bucket list of many countries to visit, or return to.
Andrea grew up doing gymnastics and continues to a fan of a Team USA and the sport in general (not just during the Olympics!). She also enjoys reading, with the Harry Potter series being her favorite books for their complex stories that can be enjoyed as both a child and an adult. Her dog is named after Harry Potter characters.
