Newspaper Coverage of the Women of 2010

This paper looked at how the New York Times, The Washington Post and USA Today portrayed four of the most prominent women running for higher office in 2010: Nikki Haley, Christine O’Donnell, Meg Whitman and Sharron Angle. The paper specifically looked at how these newspapers covered these women’s views on public policy issues vs issues in their personal lives. This paper was accepted for presentation at The Eastern Communication Association’s annual conference in April 2011 in Arlington, VA.
